Advertising on the Internet vs. Traditional Venues
If you have a limited advertising budget, advertising on television, the radio, or the newspaper may not be a viable option for you. The internet is a great place to have cheap advertising, and you can give more information about your product or service than you can on the traditional advertising venues. For example, the other day I saw a website for Georgia fly fishing guides. This was a great site that illuminated the fact that there is Georgia river fishing only a few miles away from Atlanta. I always thought that to have a really good fly fishing experience you would have to travel to the northern reaches of the United States or you would have to travel to the Rockies or even Canada. The fact that there was fly fishing in Georgia had me reading more.
I found out that Georgia fly fishing has been around for years. I would not have heard about on television unless I was watching an outdoors channel. Instead I found out that there are a plethora of Georgia fly fishing guides that would take you on the outdoor adventure of a lifetime. These people did not pay big money for a television or a radio spot, but just had an attractive website that had great pictures and tons of information on fly fishing. So, the fly fishing company had ‘hooked’ me as a customer by just putting out minimal advertising dollars without paying out the nose for a traditional advertisement venue.
