MADD, Tampa Criminal Attorney Agree Drunk Driving Incidents No Accidents; Should Be Punishable Under Serious Crimes

A Tampa criminal attorney might agree with MADD – Mother’s Against Drunk Drivers – in the recent case of Cleveland Browns receiver Donte’ Stallworth, that his sentence was just not enough.  He received only 30 days in prison along with 1,000 hours of community service, 10 years probation and a “lifetime” bar against driving after striking and killing Mario Reyes, 59, who was running across a Miami Causeway early one morning in March of this year.

Money may be the reason for such light treatment of Stallworth.  Stallworth reached a financial settlement with the Reyes family prompting his attorney to say, “This is what the (Reyes) family wanted.”

Although Stallworth had a perfect driving record, along with countless publicized community sponsored service events, his blood-alcohol level on that morning was 50% over Florida’s legal limit.  Other mitigating circumstances included the fact that Reyes was jaywalking, that still does not justify Stallworth’s light treatment and sentencing.  Is it because of the financial settlement or is it his celebrity status?  Hundreds of deals just like this one have been made based on money and social status throughout the years because both money and status can talk and the judicial system will listen.

Criminal attorney Tampa, Florida probably agreed that it’s fine to consider the victim’s feelings when doling out punishments; however judges and prosecutors represent the public and their first duty is to protect others from drunken drivers.  In 2007, drunk drivers were responsible for 13,000 deaths nationwide.  A punishment that fits the crime should go to even the most remorseful, yet high-profile, character with deep pockets.

According to MADD officials, when celebrities or major athletes are involved in drunken driving incidents, the judicial system all too often sends a message that drunken driving is no big deal.

MADD officials contend that the real tragedy in this case, and others just like it, is not that one rich and famous football player managed to get off with an easy sentence; it is the mindset that treats drunken driving deaths as “accidents” rather than serious criminal actions.

Country Walk Florida, New Townhomes in Tampa; Florida Growing By Leaps And Bounds

According to HouseHunt.com, a consumer orientated Internet firm that offers free services and information to home sellers, homebuyers and homeowners, there are seven critical components of housing sales activity each quarter.

For instance, the first round reports from HouseHunt.com’s national first-quarter assessment tells us that 88% of sellers report that it has taken more than 60 days, on average, to sell a house; sellers outnumber buyers by two to one; there is a good selection of homes for sale in virtually every community including Country Walk Florida; first-time homebuyers are accounting for 65% of existing home transactions; most sellers have experienced at least some negative appreciation in the past 12 months; 35% of sellers are receiving at least 95% of their asking prices and nearly one half of sellers are receiving multiple offers on their homes.

This is encouraging news for real estate agents across the country who may be a little pessimistic when they see street after street in their neighborhoods filled with foreclosure signs and no prospective buyers.  One bright spot that has helped many first-time homebuyers is the government’s willingness to help with an $8,000 tax credit. A person is considered a first-time purchaser if she/he has not had an interest ownership in a home for the last three years.  So even if a person has owned a home before, but has lived in an apartment for the past several years, they could qualify for the $8,000 tax credit.

New townhomes in Tampa are also seeing an increase in sales from first-time homeowners, retired couples and some military families who wish to live in a year-round warm climate.

People relocate to the Florida area not only for the wonderful weather but for a change in careers, family or simply to experience a change in scenery.  Florida is not only a tourist destination but there are people who live there year-round and take advantage of what tourists can only experience one week out of the year as often as they can.  This means they might own a boat and go fishing every weekend, make a monthly pilgrimage to one of the major amusement parks or simply relax on the beach after a long work week.

Selling Gold Jewelry Has a Rich History of Pawning, Pawn Brokers and for Pawn Shops

If you look closely, there are usually two or three pawn shops in every town and many more in big cities.  Pawn shops are becoming the new trend for people to sell gold jewelry when they need quick cash to pay bills, fuel up the car or put food on the table.

Pawn shops have been around for ages and have a rich history throughout the world.  The very old children’s nursery rhyme “Pop Goes the Weasel” is suggesting pawning.  A weasel is not only a small furry animal but also a term for a shoemaker’s tool and to “pop” is to pawn.  “That’s the way the money goes . . . Pop goes the weasel.”

It seems selling gold jewelry has been around since before America was discovered.  Spain’s Queen Isabel pawned her country’s crown jewels to finance Christopher Columbus’s trip to America.

The Latin word ‘patinum’, which means cloth, is where the word pawn comes from; the French word ‘pan’ which means blouse or skirt.  In the early days, the only asset people had was their clothes and they borrowed money by pawning the clothing.

Centuries ago, the Medici family from Italy and the Lombards from England were the main money lenders to Europe. There is a folk lore tale that says that one of the Medici men, working for Emperor Charles the Great, fought a giant and defeated him with three sacks of rocks.  The three balls or globes as they are sometimes known as then became part of the family crest and eventually the sign of the pawn broker.

Selling gold and other valuables to a pawn shop is a centuries old business that has seen its ups and downs over the years and is now experiencing a resurgence due to the weakened economy.  People who never thought they would enter a pawn shop are now bringing their valuables to be pawned for cash.  Knowing a little bit about the history of pawn shops and pawn brokers may help those people who are undecided about using pawn shops to receive quick cash for their valuables.

Granting Kitchen Countertops Say A Lot about a Person’s Personality

Some decorators say that the kitchen should be a reflection of our personalities; however the room/personality theory changes with different decorators depending on their room specialty.

If the kitchen is a reflection of our personalities, what do granite kitchen countertops say about a person?  For some people the kitchen is a central meeting place for the family, for others, it’s their place of Zen where they enjoy cooking and eating and for still others, the kitchen is a place to entertain.  No matter what your kitchen means to you, chances are it has outdated appliances, an awkward layout, and the style is not the one you’ve always dreamed about.  Kitchen remodeling offers homeowners a chance to right the many wrongs and finally obtained the kitchen of your dreams.

Tampa New homes are being built with various homeowners in mind so that kitchen remodeling does not have to take place for many years to come.  However if you are not fortunate enough to own or be purchasing a new home, then the kitchen remodeling project is the best way to get the kitchen that is right for your family.  Most kitchen contractors say there are basically four types of kitchens: the family friendly kitchen; the 30 minute kitchen for those short on time; the two cook kitchen for couples and the host kitchen for people who love to cook for a crowd.

The family friendly kitchen is an inviting space that caters to cooks of all ages, a combination rec-room and command center where people just happen to be eating together.  Kitchen cabinet refacing is a budget friendly means of updating a kitchen, especially with a plan for this type of kitchen, which should favor a great room openness style that will help keep lines of communication and sight open.

The 30 minute kitchen does not necessarily mean a convenient path from freezer to microwave.  In this type of kitchen, it’s cooking with no fuss, efficient to work in, stylishly streamlined and easy to clean up.

The two cook kitchen need dual territory for both cooks to prepare and cook the meal without collisions or forming a line at the stove.

The host kitchen should be a showplace for entertaining as well as a functional base for cooking the evening’s meal, appetizers and desserts.

When remodeling the kitchen, make sure you think of the style of kitchen your family will need.

Costly At First, Solar Power Installation Pays for Itself in the End

A community considering placing solar power units around their town must first consider the advantages and disadvantages of solar power.  Many of the advantages outweigh the disadvantages however it may not look that way when a community first begins investigating the expenses involved in participating in solar power to save energy costs.

The numerous advantages of solar energy begin with its primary benefit of being a cleaner and less toxic source.  Solar energy uses no fuel and produces no byproducts - this means there is no pollutions involved except perhaps what goes into the manufacturing of the parts made for harnessing the solar energy.  Unlike many gases and oils, solar energy can be extracted and reducing its carbon footprint to nearly zero and at the same time not producing any unnecessary pollutants into the air which also helps with global warming.

Another advantage of solar energy is that the solar panel and solar sign lights need a far smaller amount of maintenance than other forms of energy extracting technology.  The primary reason for this is because there are no moving parts and there is no cost for fuel for a solar panel.

Countless community residents are in favor of solar energy and the use of solar signs in their neighborhoods because several states and counties supply incentives such as tax breaks or funding grants for the creation of solar powered systems.  Some local governments are beginning to suspend payments for such things as construction costs and permit fees in conjunction with the solar power installation if the solar power is considerably involved with the project.

One of the biggest disadvantages people notice right away with solar power is the initial cost of installation and setup.  This may not be in a community’s budget however once a solar energy system is set up and running, it only takes a short period of time for it to recoup the installation fees.

Another disadvantage for the solar energy systems is finding a large area of community property in which to place the solar panels on.  Many of the large solar panels need clear access to continual sunlight and void of any tree coverage.

Best Dentists in Washington, DC Practice New Advancements in Dentistry

There are several new advancements in dental care, especially in the teeth whitening DC area which has become faster and less painful than in years past.

Other new advancements at the dentist’s office include the treatment of decay and gum problems with dental lasers.  An intense concentration of energy is produced by a dental laser through a beam of light called the laser beam.  The laser can provide a vibration free and painless method for removing dental decay; it vaporizes tissue with the energy from the laser and was recently approved by the FDA for the removal of diseased and excessive gum tissues.

Air abrasion allows for gentle and precise removal of dental decay with a fine high powered spray of aluminum oxide power and is safe for everyone in the family.  This reduces the need for a high-powered drill and the need for local anesthetic.  There is no smell or vibrations and the procedure is quicker than traditional methods of dental decay removal.  This procedure is especially effective for treating teeth that show signs of early dental decay and is completely safe to use.

Digital x-ray imaging allows a dentist to store the image, retrieve the image and transmit the image from another digital form.  The digital image may be enlarged allowing for better diagnostics and can be printed on paper after being stored on the computer for easy transportation to another dentist’s office.  Additionally, the digital x-ray imaging is considered to dramatically reduce the exposure to radiation in a patient.

The best dentists in Washington, DC uses intra-oral computer cameras which is a specialized camera system that moves around the mouth to take the photographs which can be immediately viewed on a computer screen.  With this technology a patient could view the problems or preview results before the treatment begins.  This intra-oral computer camera is being used more and more for patient education and cosmetic dentistry.

Tissue engineering is a process of genetically growing tissues in a laboratory.  This method is used when a patient lacks the ability to grow tissue for grafting due to accidents or gum disease.  This procedure is still in its infant stage, however it is showing great promise.

DC Printers, Labels a Specialty

Several Washington, DC printers are experts with different varieties of printing projects.  Some printing shops specialize in promotional items such as key chains, caps and water bottles all with your company’s logo or tagline clearly imprinted on the front.  While other print companies prefer to specialize in paper products in digital photographs, others pride themselves on their assortment of printed labels

Printing labels is the specialty of DC printers and they run quantities from 250 pieces all the way up to millions of labels.  Whatever your company’s label needs are, a print shop usually could meet those needs better than any office ink jet printer.

Many print shops will print short run promotional labels or stickers for special one-time only products, including UPC codes.  Labels and stickers come in a wide assortment of colors - most containing up to eight or more colors, shapes and sizes including static cling “stickers” which cling to windows and mirrors and are usually transparent so the design is on both sides of the static cling label or sticker.  Other stickers and labels include foil stamped for special occasions such as weddings, graduations, anniversaries or anything that requires a shiny foil sticker that may or may not be embossed with a decorative seal.  There are also custom shapes labels and stickers, like a trucking company might have a label in the shape of the truck or plumbing company could have a sticker in the shape of a toilet. Whatever shape might represent a business best could be custom made to fit that company’s needs with their name, address, phone number and website all printed on the sticker.

Some companies need consecutive number stickers to keep track of their inventory or for other purposes that might help them to stay organized.  There are also tamper evident stickers in which the company’s name may be placed all along the sticker and if the sticker is removed from the item, the company’s name will stay on the box or whatever item it was left on showing someone opened the box or removed the label.
