Down Comforter Is On Sale in January White Sale at Brick-And-Mortar Store, Always Available Through Online Stores

Many times people have to wait for a January white sale in order to find down comforters on sale because January is the end of the winter season for retailers, even though winter is still going strong in most parts of the country.

A real world retailers selling season actually has nothing to do with the weather outside because if you walk into any department store in August you will find items like sweaters, sweatshirts, snow blowers and snow shovels and not a single bathing suit.  Swimming suits are typically put out on the racks in February to get ready for the spring season.

Of course there is one shopping center that is open year-round where you can purchase white comforters on sale in the fall and winter months when they are needed most, or any time of year for that matter, and that place is the Internet where online shopping is a 365 day a year activity where the seasons do not dictate what a person could purchase.

There are many people who attend or put on masquerade style parties at different times of the year; however department stores only carry Halloween costumes from approximately August to the first of November.  Many people celebrate New Year’s Eve with a masquerade party and of course Mardi Gras uses costumes for its Fat Tuesday celebration and these costumes must be purchased online because regular department stores have already put their costumes away.

People move into new apartments, townhomes, dorm rooms and houses every day of the year and need items like down comforters which are always available in these big-box department stores, however they are hardly ever on sale until the big January White sale when all the linens are marked down.  And in today’s economy no one wants to pay full price for something as expensive and luxury as a down comforter.

Every once in a while, one of the department stores will break out of the retail seasonal mold and have a special sale on linens at the beginning of the actual fall and winter season, however these are usually ‘one day only’ special savings sales that are not advertised very well.

Beach Cruisers Began During the Great Depression; Continuing Popularity in Economic Hard Times

Beach cruisers bicycles were first introduced by Schwinn at the time of the Great Depression when bicycle sales were declining sharply. It seems almost poetic that the beach cruisers are making a comeback today in 2009 during another economic downturn when people are depending less on their gas guzzling automobiles and opting for a two wheel ride instead.

Back then, adults purchased very few beach cruisers because they were thought of as luxury product intended for sports or recreation in which no one had time for because they were all out looking for work.

Beach cruisers were popular during the 30s and 40s and suddenly increased in popularity during the postwar success.  Some models of the beach cruisers weighed nearly 50 pounds and contained single speed mechanicals, plus the balloon tires made this sort of bike perfect for a flat terrain.  They were popular with bicycle couriers and paperboys and had a lot of competition from manufacturers such as Shelby, Columbia, Roadmaster, Huffy and Monark.

Bicycles imported from Great Britain during the 50s and 60s had used beach cruisers taking a backseat in popularity because they were lighter – 30 to 40 pounds, with greater hill climbing capabilities and more nimble for sports, plus this bike featured three speeds, taller wheels and a more narrow tire.  About this time was also the debut of the muscle bicycle or low-rider, which featured a banana seat, shift levers that were oversized. This in turn gave birth to the BMX bicycles and finally the mountain bike.

The beach cruiser’s style, affordability and comfort – compared with racing bikes and mountain bikes – have led to a renewed popularity in addition to the fact that Baby Boomers are reaching an age where a comfortable bike, in addition to the “retro-style” look, are worth the money even though the beach cruisers are more affordable than their counterparts.

Some beach cruisers even feature bike cup holders, spacious baskets and custom-made seats in order to accommodate bike riders on long trips or short jaunts around the block.

Distracted Drivers Could Cause Fatal Accidents Just As Easily As Drunk Drivers

No matter what kind of car a person drives, from beach cruisers to top-of-the-line luxury automobiles, there is a potential for accidents because of human error, distracted drivers. A distracted driver is any driver who is not fully paying attention to the road and what is going on around them.  Distractions for drivers can come from passengers, radios and CD or DVD players, their own thoughts and of course the most popular distraction these days are cell phones.  Many states have put a ban on the use of cell phones while driving which means a person needs to pull their car over to the side of the road or somewhere safe like a parking lot in order to use their cell phone to avoid hefty fees and even jail time for driving while using their cell phone.

The latest craze, especially for teen and young adult drivers, is texting while driving which has shown to be very dangerous.  One study showed that texting while driving impairs a driver’s reaction time up to 400 percent more than that of a driver who is drunk.

Texting while driving is a dangerous combination and can cause fatal accidents.  A traffic sign with a solar panel attached to it that helps generate power to flashing LED lights may help a distracted driver by drawing their attention away from their cell phone, hamburger or whatever else they are doing with in their car so that they might see the flashing lights, read the sign and do as instructed not only to save others’ lives but to save their own as well.

Many communities, cities and towns across the country are having solar panel installation of traffic signs with the LED flashing lights in the hopes of alerting distracted drivers of upcoming road work, school crossings or other pedestrian crossings, railroad crossings, stops, construction entrances or other possibly dangerous situations coming up in the road in which a distracted driver needs to pay attention.

In lab tests after lab tests, solar powered traffic signs have proven to help distracted drivers see the signs and heed their warnings.
