Cloth Diapers Similar to Disposable Diapers Only Cloth Diapers Saved More Money in the Long Run
Many of the new cloth diapers come with a built-in plastic diaper cover to keep moisture, wetness and other messes inside the diaper without having to purchase separate plastic pants to go over a cloth diaper.
Years ago cloth diapers required other accessories including large safety pins or diaper pins which attached the diaper to itself in order to keep it on the child in addition to plastic pants that covered the cloth diapers so that nothing leaked out and each diaper resembled a disposable diaper, covered in plastic.
There are also diaper liners people can purchase that are either disposable or reusable that are placed inside a cloth diaper that help absorb moisture and pull wetness away from babies’ delicate and tender skin which helps greatly with avoiding diaper rash. The reusable diaper liners can be thrown in a wash with the cloth diapers; however the disposable diaper liners simply get thrown in the trash.
Many parents believe disposable diapers save them time and stress; however the latest incarnation of cloth diapers are similar to disposable diapers in that they have a built-in plastic outer shell and use Velcro fasteners for ease of adjustments while on the baby or to check to see if the baby has made a mess. These new disposable diapers are washable and can withstand fierce wash cycles as well as wear and tear from toddlers walking, crawling, running and general horseplay much like the disposable diapers.
Cloth diapers may take an extra minute or two once they have been removed from the child because they need to be rinsed out in the toilet before they can be placed in the hamper or in the washing machine; however this is the only time-consuming part of using cloth diapers. With the Velcro fasteners and a plastic outer wrap, the cloth diapers simply slip on a baby just as disposable diapers do and the baby is ready to go.
Some parents use cloth diapers at home and disposable diapers when they are out and about like when they are shopping, going to a restaurant or visiting friends and family because this saves them about half the money and half the time they would if they used all cloth diapers.
