Granite in Tampa Comes From Brazil; Low Radon Emissions Help Keep Kitchen/Bath Green

Going green is no longer simply the latest trend, it’s a movement with staying power and Granite in Tampa, whose family owned quarry, is located in Brazil, is also concerned about the environment.

According to a recent research study, 81 percent of industry professionals surveyed reported that they are seeing interest in green products hold steady or grow in importance – and expects this trend to continue into the future.

When it comes to what can be learned from this pattern of stability and growth – in what has to be a less than stable market place due to the downturned economy – the answer may lie in the basic idea that, when going green, every little bit helps.  Bathrooms and kitchen designers indicate that their customers want to make changes and even small changes will give them the feeling that they are doing something for their families and for the environment.

Countertops in Tampa, from a family owned and operated granite and marble store, can help a homeowner change one thing – the countertops – and the entire look of the room will be transformed without spending a lot of money or doing a lot of remodeling work.  This year, and perhaps for the next several years, less is more when it comes to changing the look and feel of a kitchen or bathroom and a countertop in granite Tampa, Florida may just be the answer.

Suppliers and manufacturers to the bath and kitchen industries have increased their product offerings in the green category, with many retooling existing products to meet updated water conservation guidelines and indoor air quality requirements.  Plus, while in previous years environmentally friendly meant more expensive, today there are new products being added at different price points.

If one considers that an individual spends 90 percent of their lives indoors, it’s clear why the key issue in designing healthy spaces is air quality.

Designers need to get the facts about radon, which is a radioactive gas emitted from the breakdown of uranium in the bedrock upon which a house stands.  Granite is the bedrock that produces it.

The jury is still out on granite countertops’ rate of radon emissions/non-emissions.  There is a website that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency runs that keeps stats on where radon incidences are highest.

Photographers Choose many Different Styles of Camera Cases for Different Jobs

There are thousands of ways a photographer could make a living taking photographs. He or she could take sports photographs, which may sound like a somewhat glamorous and exciting job, but there are dangers to being a sports photographer. A sports photographer could be standing on the sidelines of a football or baseball game and be hit by a charging player or a fly ball. Their camera equipment should be safe if they have chosen the right camera case for a sports photographer. There are camera cases that resemble duffle bags that contain many individual compartments and smaller pull-out camera bags which can be taken along with them.

Wedding photographers have a special ‘eye’ for capturing the love between a newly wedded couple and their special day. These photographers usually spend an entire day and evening with the couple and their friends and family taking both posed and candid shots in order to compile an album of photographs of memories that will last the couple a lifetime.  A wedding photographer needs to be alert to what is going on not only with the bride and groom, but with the guests and the wedding party to be able to capture those rare shots, like a cute interaction between a flower girl and a ring bearer.

School photographers need to stay ‘on their toes’ and alert to children switching places with one another during picture day. Many schools do not have the resources to ‘police’ children and keep them in line. Often times a school photographer might hire a high schooler to help them work with the younger kids, to make sure that they do not make funny faces and that their hair is in place and that they keep the line moving so that they can be more efficient and take photographs at several schools in one day. A simple camera case would work well for a school photographer because they usually only have a small amount of equipment.

Wildlife photographers or photojournalist are rare but make a large salary because their job entails some danger and in the case of the photojournalist, more work.  A photojournalist would choose camera bags that are more like suitcases on wheels or perhaps a backpack style that allows them to also carry their laptop with them in order to file their reports along with their photographs.

DC Cosmetic Dentist Creates Bright, White Smiles with Laser Technology

Many people are trying everything they can to get an upper hand when it comes to beating out their competition for a job, especially with today’s high rate of unemployment when so many people are looking for work and hundreds of people are applying for the same, single open position.

A brighter, whiter smile may just be that ‘upper hand’ or edge a person needs to show they have confidence in themselves and working with a DC cosmetic dentist would be the first step towards that new image. Cracked, discolored or missing teeth make people look older than they are and being afraid of the dentist keeps countless people away from the look and smile they deserve.

Various people believe that beautiful teeth are just as important to a persons self esteem as beautiful, clear skin. Both can make or break a first impression.

Innumerable people try to whiten their teeth at home with different over-the-counter teeth whitening kits and products, yet they find they are repeating the procedure nearly once or twice a month with poor results. A cosmetic dentist Washington DC can whiten a person’s teeth with long-term results using laser technology that will last between nine and 12 months depending on the severity of the original damage.

Dentists are now using lasers in order to help lessen the pain and discomfort associated with several of the dental procedures that used to require a drill. A laser can be used to make incisions, gum treatments and preparing a tooth for a filling for a cavity. A laser also eliminates the need for local anesthetic.

As more and more procedures are approved to use lasers, by the Food and Drug
Administration – FDA, more and more
DC dentists and dentists from across the country will be using them. Just recently the FDA approved using a laser as a disinfectant during root canal procedures. Instead of using bleach for up to 30 minutes to kill bacteria, a laser kills 99.7 percent of bacteria in a matter of minutes. Something that used to take 20 or 30 minutes and was very uncomfortable for the patient is now finished in a matter of 2 or 3 minutes with less discomfort and better results.

Safety First, Candles Need Space Away From Other Items to Avoid Fire

A countless number of people use candles to make a statement about themselves in their bedrooms, living rooms, bathrooms and many other places in their homes. Candles make great accent pieces for just about any décor in any room; however, there are many people who don’t pay attention to the safety warnings that go along with burning candles. People decide they want a candle and put it where they think it looks good and don’t think about where it would burn good.

The National Candle Association recommends several tips for candle burning to keep a person, their family and home safe. First and foremost, always burn candles within sight. In other words, never leave a candle unattended.  Be sure to extinguish all candles when leaving the room and prior to going to sleep. Nearly 40 percent of residential candle fires reportedly occur because candles were left unattended, inadequately controlled or abandoned.

It may sound like common sense but people still burn candles near flammable items such as curtains or on tablecloths.  Candles should never be burned near or on anything that could catch on fire.  Keep burning candles away from furniture, curtains, bedding, carpeting, paper, books, flammable decorations, etc. The National Candle Association reports that 20 percent of all residential candle fires occur because a combustible item was placed too close to an open flame from a candle.

And the biggest problem with residential candle fires is placing a candle where children can reach it. Children are naturally curious and a dancing, flickering candle flame is probably the most inviting to a curious child. Once a child touches the flame and realizes it’s hot and/or burns them, the candle is usually dropped and could start a fire.

Whether your candles are purchased through an online outlet or you have a wholesale candle, they all have one thing in common and that is the potential to start a fire and destroy property and life if people are not careful and heed the warnings of the National Candle Association and use some common sense.

Cash for Gold Companies are Big Business, Saving Many People with Quick Cash

The recession has hit people very hard and many are looking for ways to make quick cash for things like emergency medical bills, to pay large utility bills – especially during the long winter months – or perhaps unexpected vehicle repairs.  One place people are turning to is selling gold jewelry either online or to their local pawn shops.

There are hundreds of online and through the mail companies that offer to purchase an individual’s unwanted gold jewelry and pay them cash with no questions asked. With the gold trading at its highest price in years, people are sending in their old gold jewelry to receive cash for gold.

A pawn shop works in two different ways: an individual will bring in their valuable items such as a piece of gold jewelry or a flat-screen television and the pawn shop will hold the item for a predetermined amount of time for a certain amount of money loaned to the individual and then at the end of that amount of time, the individual brings back the money with interest and receives their valuable back. It’s like leaving collateral at a pawn shop in return for a cash advance without a credit check.

The other way a pawn shop works with people looking for quick cash is that they bring in their valuables, gold jewelry or electronic videogames, and the pawn shop purchases it out right – gives the owner of the valuable the money and in return keeps the valuable to sell in their store front.

A countless number of people who never thought they would have to use a pawn shop are now regularly relying on pawn shops to help them make ends meet or to purchase gently used items they want or need for their household or as gifts for friends and family.  When an individual exchanges their valuable for cash and does not return to claim their valuable after a certain amount of time – usually 90 days – the pawn shop assumes that the individual did not intend for the money to be a loan and instead assumes that they have sold their valuable to the pawn shop which in turn allows the pawn shop to sell the valuable in their store front in order to recover their money.
